earned her Rom and certificate of ability in cutting.

was a AAA race horse as well as a top cutting, rope and arena horse. He won numerous High school championships as well as several of his sons and daughters have done the same

Laddie has a hard luck story to tell, his dam died when he was 11 hours old, the vets comment was " I wouldn't give you 2 bits for the little guys chance a maken it" well Laddie is tough, he proved it again when as a yearling he suffered a life threatening and career ending injury to a hind leg. Again the vet recommended putting him down as the tendon in one hind leg was severed in two and retracted up the leg. The tendon in the other hind leg was nicked but would heal. We discussed his future in the headlights of a pick-up and the decision was made, Lad had already proven his will to live so where there is life there is hope, he was administered a tranquilizer and the sewing began, after the tendon was stitched back together the good doctor gave his prognosis" it will never hold, he will always drag the toe". Lad had to live the next year of his life in a 14 by 14 pen. This was tough for a coming 2 year old stallion who loved to play. He was to have no turn out, hand walking only, no running or playing.Tough for any horse and nearly impossible for a young one that felt REALLY good.

Today Lad is sound enough to ride, he does not drag his toe and he is still full of all that love of life he has had since birth. He has a good disposition that passes on to his foals. Lads father " Freckles Cal Bar" had a disposition that was unsurpassed by any stallion I have ever known and my favorite saying about old Freckles was that he could fix a bad disposition on any mare and Laddie is following in his dads footsteps.

Kyle and Dash(sired by Lad) have been an amazing team, Kyle rode a daughter of Lad to many awards, he did all of his own training with her and she is now retired to the broodmare band with us and we are anxious to get some foals from her. After retiring Flicka the fall of 2008/spring of 2009 Kyle was left with a tough choice, but his dad Joe had a nice gelding by Lad " Dash" so Kyle took to riding his dads colt and they are officially the 2009 limited Non-Pro Cow Horse Champions for the Klamath reined Cow Horse Association year ends. Kyle and Dash will wear that new Buckle with Pride What a great job Kyle has done.

Congratulations Josie Stickel

Josie and Freckles(brother to lad) have been showing together for several years, whatever they set their minds to do they usually do quite well, Tragedy struck when Freckles Broke a bone in his leg and had to have a 9 month lay off. The beauty of this pair really showed through when 1 week after being releasd from doctors care Josie and Freckles were named The Lake County Fair Horseshow Champions in their division.
Josie and Freckles can wear their new buckle with pride they earned it.

Josie and freckles have continued their winning streak and have added a buckle in cow working as well, Josie has shown, worked cows, roped and done what ever she needed to do with Freckles and has done so wih great success, we are proud Of both Josie and freckles.
